On 7 and 8 February Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” will host the first international meeting of the European project “Serious Games for Social and Creativity Competencies”, which will discuss new methods for training and development of social skills. At 11:00 on 8th February 2013, a press conference will be held in the “Compass” hall of the Rector building of the Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” to mark the launch of this European project. The project is 30 months (01/01/2013 – 30/06/2015) and is funded under the “Lifelong Learning” measure “Key Activity 3: ICT products and services pedagogies.”
The project was initiated by the Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilenarski” in partnership with universities and consulting companies from Belgium, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria and the UK.
The initiative will create a set of electronic learning games (PC and mobile) to help persons with special educational needs and disadvantaged people to improve their social skills as follows: empathy, gratitude, complimenting, solving conflicts, acceptance of others, expressing one’s own emotions, positions and perspectives, self-assertion, a sense of a situation, support and encouragement, sharing, support, cooperation, communication and creativity.
For the first time in Europe, serious games addressing Social Competencies will be designed based on the planned analysis of the needs of the target groups that will be launched this month. Games will comply with all requirements for accessibility of the following languages: English, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, German, Dutch, Serbian and Turkish.
